As you may recall I have been meeting with churches and organizations in the Dallas area (see previous article) to discuss the role quality Christian resources can play in discipleship, as well as to raise awareness of the upcoming Christian Book Expo. Already, I’ve heard from several key Dallas pastors of their plan to support Christian Book Expo by promoting it in their churches, and through the various media outlets (TV and radio programs) they’re involved in. We are working hand in hand with publishers and their contacts, to get the word out to the area churches. Immediately following the Executive Leadership Summit, I will speak to a group of key African American churches. The meeting is being coordinated by UMI and will focus on how churches can take advantage of the opportunity to help the members of their congregation discover great content that will encourage their spiritual growth. On May 15th, we will put a save the date promo in the registration packet of over 300 churches meeting at the Gateway Connection of Churches hosted by author and pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church in Southlake, TX. Gateway has a membership of over 10,000 and he is an enthusiastic supporter of the Christian Book Expo. I will do a presentation to this group when they meet again in August. There is much more in the works and we will try to keep you updated through the Expo blog.
